About

F. T. Daniel is a British writer of speculative fiction with a particular fascination for survival, isolation, and the quiet erosion of sanity in extreme conditions. With a background in history and folklore, Daniel blends grounded research with supernatural unease, crafting stories where the line between myth and madness is perilously thin.

The Expedition: A Journal to the Unknown is Daniel’s debut novella—a psychological thriller set in the Arctic wilds, told through the fragmented journal of an ill-fated explorer.

The Expedition: A Journal into the Unknown

In 1928, Thomas Welbourn, a young Cambridge graduate, joins an Arctic expedition to make his mark on history. Backed by a wealthy patron and led by a veteran captain, the journey promises discovery and glory. But when a sudden storm wrecks their vessel, the crew finds themselves stranded on an uncharted island shrouded in fog and legend. As they fight to endure the brutal conditions, unease creeps in—strange sounds in the forest, missing supplies, and whispers of something watching. Survival soon becomes more than a test of strength; it becomes a question of sanity.
